Modelling Mullins effect induced by chain delamination and reattachment

نویسندگان

چکیده

We propose a continuum theory to model the Mullins effect, which is ubiquitously observed in polymer composites. In theory, softening of materials during stretching process accounted for by considering delamination chains from nano-/micro-sized fillers, and recovery effect de-stretching due reattachment fillers. By incorporating chain entanglements, Log-Normal distribution mesh size network, etc., we can obtain good agreement between our numerical calculation results existing experiments. This be easily adapted meet more practical demands utilised analysing mechanic properties

Elastic anisotropy effect on indentation-induced thin film interfacial delamination

Effect of elastic anisotropy on indentation-induced thin film interfacial delamination, especially, at the initiation and early growth stage, is examined. The indentation load is modeled as a constant pressure over an expanding semi-spherical cavity. The delamination process is approached by a cohesive zone model. The rest of the problem is formulated within the general anisotropic elasticity t...

Numerical modelling of induced rip currents by discontinuous submerged breakwaters

Submerged breakwaters are one of the shore protective structures. Any discontinuity in these breakwaters causes changes on current parameters including speed and water surface profile. In this paper, discontinuous submerged breakwaters were modelled to investigate the changes in the wave and flow pattern. To investigate the phenomenon, three models including a shore with constant slope, a shore ...

The effect of biceps reattachment site.

BACKGROUND We hypothesize that an anatomic repair of the distal biceps tendon would recreate native tendon moment arm and forearm rotation, while a nonanatomic insertion would compromise moment arm and forearm rotation. METHODS Isometric supination torque was measured at 60° of pronation, neutral, and 60° of supination for the native distal biceps tendon and 4 repair points in 6 cadaveric spe...
